Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve put together answers to some frequently asked questions regarding our home services at Champion Comfort Experts.

Do you install showers?

At this time, we do not offer shower installation as a service. We do, however, provide other plumbing installations. Contact our office about installing water heaters, garbage disposals, water filters, water softeners, and new gas, water, and sewer lines.

Do you work on septic tanks?

While we do not provide services for the septic tank itself, we do offer basic plumbing services that may be related. In addition to the regular plumbing services they perform for you, your Champion Comfort Experts technician may be able to look at the sewer line that runs from your home to the tank to check for issues, if needed.

Do you have a routine maintenance plan?

Yes, we do! Our MVP Protection Plan keeps your furnace, A/C, plumbing, and electrical services running safely and efficiently for longer.

MVP Protection Plan members also receive benefits such as:

  • Priority scheduling on all services
  • Discounts on dispatch fee and select services
  • 50% off routine system cleanings
  • Our Chore of Your Choice service (help from our technicians, before they leave your home, on a small household chore)

To learn more information about our maintenance plan package, including pricing and what’s included, you can visit our MVP Protection Plan page.

Do you work on gas logs/fireplaces?

We do not offer services for gas logs or fireplaces in general. For a full list of heating services provided by our team, please refer to our heating services page.

Do you service portable generators?

Our team does not work on portable generators. We do, however, provide services for whole-home generators, including installation and repair. Whole-home generators are ideal in times when long-term power outages cause uncertainty. Installing a whole-home generator can prevent food in the refrigerator from going bad, protect computer hard drives from damage, keep cellphones and other devices charged, and maintain comfortable temperatures throughout a house.

Do you work on wall mounts or monitor heaters?

We do not currently offer services for wall mount or monitor heaters.

Heaters we service include:

  • Gas furnaces
  • Oil furnaces
  • Heat pumps
  • Air handlers

How often should I have you service my HVAC system?

You should schedule professional HVAC maintenance at least twice per year (ideally in the spring and fall). Sometimes you may require additional service appointments depending on the state of your HVAC system.

How do you choose the right size of HVAC system for my house?

We’ll take into account your home’s square footage as well as your home’s insulation and other factors.

Why am I suddenly paying more for my water bill?

The likely culprit for an increase in your water bill without additional usage is a leak somewhere in your plumbing system. Most commonly, you may have a leak in your toilet. Contact our team to diagnose the change in plumbing system efficiency.

Why should I hire a professional plumber for plumbing services?

A professional plumber will be able to assess the situation with your plumbing system and determine the root cause. When you hire an expert, you can trust your problems will be fully resolved rather than performing a DIY fix that might only be putting a bandage over a bigger issue.

Why should I get whole house surge protection?

Installing whole house surge protection ensures all your electronic devices and appliances are safe in the event of a power surge. You won’t have to worry that every piece of equipment is plugged into an individual surge protector, since your electrical system will be protected in its entirety.

What is a GFCI outlet?

GFCI stands for “ground fault circuit interrupter”, and it refers to a type of outlet that has a “test” and “reset” button and detects when there’s an issue with electrical current such as when there’s moisture present. It will shut the circuit off automatically for your protection.
